From the time he was twelve, Leo Locke began helping out in the family business after school doing mailings. After high school, he decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps and pursue a career in the travel industry. He learned the ropes from the ground up, escorting tours during summer vacation breaks, checking in charter flights, traveling the length and width of Italy. He worked in the leisure travel division of Garber Travel, and then in corporate travel for the Bechtel Corporation at Haley Travel American Express.
When Donna Franca purchased the lovely first class Hotel Relais Certosa of Florence in 1983, Leo moved to Italy where he did everything from sales and marketing for the hotel to oversee Donna Franca Tours Operations Office. In 1993, Leo returned Stateside after the sale of the hotel.
Presently, as the company’s Vice President, Leo wears multiple hats doing everything from closing sales to spotting new trends in the industry. “What I enjoy best is helping people personalize their vacation experience, with lasting memories they will fondly treasure for a lifetime!”
Though he loves all of Italy, Tuscany holds a special place in his heart. “I love the country side, the landscape resembles a natural canvas, and the small towns look like they’ve been immortalized in many Renaissance paintings.”
When he’s not working, Leo enjoys reading, biking, gardening, cooking, and is an active member of the Medical Reserve Corps.
